The Arkansas Medical Marijuana Commission approved a sixth cultivation license to support the growing market in Arkansas that is approaching almost $100 million in medical marijuana sales.
Carpenter Farms Medical Group was granted the license on Tuesday. There are currently three cultivation facilities that are operating in Arkansas: The BOLD Team, Osage Creek, and Natural State Medicinals. The two additional growers are anticipating to harvest soon.
Multiple lawmakers argued that an additional license in Arkansas is needed in order to bring down the cost of medical marijuana. They noted that some patients have been traveling to Oklahoma to visit dispensaries and purchase cheaper products.
