Arkansas Cannabis Guide: What To Do When You Get Too High

What To Do When You're Too High

Arkansas medical marijuana patients have the wonderful privilege of purchasing up to 2 1/2 ounces of cannabis every two weeks. With access to medicine becoming more available, beginners are at risk for overconsumption and any old school stoner can tell you their own “I got too high” story.

Arkansans looking to medical marijuana as an alternative medicine should be familiar with overconsuming cannabis, and in this article Arkansas Marijuana Card will cover getting too high, and what to do if you are!

Arkansas Marijuana Card Guide: Getting Too High

Anyone who has ever over consumed cannabis can tell you it is unpleasant. While getting too baked is not life-threatening, it can be very overwhelming and easily avoided. The best approach is always less is more, and overconsumption can be avoided by simply waiting it out.

“Just take one hit.”

“Wait a little longer on the edible.”

“Patience.”

These reign especially true for new consumers and patients who do not have a tolerance already, or are new to cannabis altogether.

Getting too high can come with a list of unfriendly effects including:

· Increased anxiety

· Paranoia

· Cold sweats

· Confusion

As you can imagine, if these side effects can be avoided, they probably should be.

While your best bet may be to sit back, strap in, and wait it out, for those feeling especially overwhelmed there are additional steps you can take to help ease the negative effects from overdoing it.

Top 3 Tips for When You’re Too High

1. Chill

Not to be understated, try to relax. You will be fine; you just overdid it a little.

It happens.

Fortunately, no one has ever died from over consuming cannabis, and you won’t be the first.

Allow yourself to experience your present state without agreeing or disagreeing with the condition of the state.

Take it all in, let it be overwhelming if it must be, and take a deep breath or two, the intensity will fade with some time.

Dimming the lights, throwing on a comfy blanket, and turning on some relaxing music can help soften the mood. If you need a task or something to focus on, casual reading or a lighthearted movie can be excellent choices.

Try not to think in terms of the new things you are experiencing and think in terms of it being the first time you are really experiencing them.

Meditation and stretching or yoga are also great ways to release the tension of being too high, try to find your peace.

2. Water & Light Snacks

Water is key.

There is nothing like a crisp, cool drink of water when you’re stoned to the bone, it hits all the right places and keeps you hydrated!

Water is your best friend, it’ll help fight off dry-mouth, keep you cool, and feels great to drink. Any drink is obviously fine, perhaps avoid alcoholic beverages as they can increase some negative effects.

Snacks are also a must.

You’re likely feeling like you’re going to starve or can’t even fathom the idea of food.

Either way, the right snack can fix both!

Soft cookies, celery, and bagels are all great choices, really anything is.

If you’re feeling less inclined to chow down, try some ginger tea or blueberries, they’re both easily digestible, have encouraging aromas and flavors, and are full of rich antioxidants.

Keep the snacks light, think less meals and more treats.

3. Ride it Out

If you’ve gotten too high, there are two things that are 100% guaranteed.

1. You are too high.

2. You will eventually not be too high.

While you are too high, you might as well try to engage in some activities that being too high is really great for, even if it feels a little tough.

In other words, ride it out.

Do some finger painting, put a puzzle together, play a video game, scroll through TikTok, get lost in YouTube conspiracies, the world doesn’t have to stop just because you got a little too high!

Sure, you might feel a little sedated and sluggish or too energetic and anxious even, but you’d be surprised at how creative you can be while you are too high.

A good distraction goes a long way, and it might surprise you just how fast you’ll forget about being too high when you’re dialed in to the 49th page of a Reddit forum or deeply engrained in an Alice in Wonderland paperback.

Being too high can be a rush, a bummer, or an opportunity. Rest assured it will certainly go away with time, so make the most of your super stoned mistake and you’ll be just fine.
