Since its legalization in 2016, Arkansas’s medical marijuana program has been on the rise and according to the state Department of Finance and Administration, it is expected to see even more growth by the end of this year.
Arkansas’s first dispensary opened in May of 2019, and within three months, eight out of the 32 licensed dispensaries are fully operating. Medical marijuana sales recently just hit over the $6 million mark as dispensaries have already sold more than 800 pounds of marijuana.
As if sales aren’t impressive enough, 24 new dispensaries are planned to open in Arkansas
by the end of October which will only result in larger sales. The next dispensary expected to open in Arkansas is Acanza Health Group in Fayetteville. Their inspection date is scheduled for September 3 and hope to be fully operating shortly after.
Three out of the five cultivation facilities in the state are also up and running. The two remaining facilities, Natural State Wellness Enterprises and Delta Medical Cannabis Co., which will be both located in Newport, are expected to be operating by the end of this year.
